Just a quick post...April's done and so is on of my UFOs:
I can not believe I actually finished this! Thanks Kat!
Done
Done
And done.
The Mary Poppins Scarf, knit on size 10 needles with an unidentified worsted weight yarn bought long ago. I love this scarf :)
I also finished a few squares for Gracious Parcels Firefly
I bought this little "blocker" at my local grocery store for about $3 and it's perfect for blocking small items like these. I was a little pleased with myself for getting this.
All folded, it uses almost no space.
The squares are 7" each knitted from Encore Worsted, my favorite for this project as they need to be warm and washable. I've decided to use this ongoing project to learn and practice new stitches and some familiar favorites.
There's a contest over at Trek's! Just leave her a comment and spread the word! She's going for comments here, so get on over there and leave one!

Nice scarf Carol! You make Mary Poppins proud :)
and very innovative blocker I might add. Its nice to have friends of the higher intelligence level!! :)
Miles of Smiles coming your way....
I can't believe all those FOs!! See what a little turmoil in your job situation does for your knitting? I like the blocking board too.
Beautiful scarf! And your blocking tool is wonderful. I need to get moving on my gracious parcels squares. I've been cranking out the Dulaan hats lately.
Great scarf - wish I knew what the unidentified yarn is :)
The blocker is very schmick indeed (is that a word?).
What a great idea for a blocker! I'm going to have to look for those!
and great projects, I'm going to look into them too!
Nice scarf Carol! Just what the heck is that thing when it's not a "blocker"?
Great colors in your Mary Poppins scarf. I like the blocker too. What do the unenlightened use it for? Just curious.
I love your Mary Poppins Scarf! Doesn't it feel great to finish something? I appreciate your "blocker" info, it looks perfect, just what I need.
Always good to get another project finished!
Beautiful scarf, and nice squares too! I love that virtuous feeling of finishing things. Maybe I will feel it myself again someday...
Wow, this scarf is so beautiful! Fantastic job! And yay for the blocker, this seems to be absolutely perfect!
Ooh, is that the sheep-in-the-city herringbone scarf? I made one of those, it was such a cool stitch pattern. You scarf looks lovely!
Yay! An FO! And a very nice-looking one to boot. You go!
Hey, I have one of those sweater drying thingies. How come I never use it?
Are you ok babe? I know it's only been a week, but I made that coffee cake this morning and thought of you (especially when I saw that I forgot to add sugar to the recipe I sent you!).
I'm having a horrible time catching up with everyone. Your scarf is beautiful and I really like the blocker. How smart.
Hope all is well and the work transition stress is easing.
Hey, I hope that you get to feeling better!
Cool blocker, and cool parcels as well as other "done" projects.
Hope your spring is going well.
Best,
firefly
