Oh Come On!

Carol --

[noun]:

A person who falls into an outhouse and dies

'How will you be defined in the dictionary?' at QuizGalaxy.com

When life hands you cotton, make string bags. After running out of yarn on my first attempt, I pulled out the heavy artillery just to make sure. After digging around in the stash, I found this 2 lb. cone of cotton that I bought eons ago. How could someone forget having this thing in the house? Maybe someone who's just a little over enstashiated?

I couldn't stop til this was done.

I like this bag. It looks dainty enough, but it can hold quite a bit. I will make another after I try a few others. The next one will be knitted and have some real specs to go with it. This one is from an older pattern crocheted with a size C hook in a pure cotton that wasn't marked. I got it from an indie crochet house about 3-4 years ago and it's perfect for this kind of project.

Seems the string bag thing is the general mood for knitters and crocheters alike these days, so I'll just keep making them until I stop. There's been knitting on the Gracious Parcels front and the Dishcloth Fun gang is at it for the month of June too. I've also worked the UFO Resurrection Forever Tank as I'm calling it.

Now I can literally say I'm up to my armpits in knitting. The arm shaping is about to commence, but the directions are right now clear as mud. Do this on this side while doing that on the other while every other row doing this and don't do this on every 5th row or something like that. This is now a "I have to knit this at home where I can think" knit.

I also want to make the Larger Than Life Bag from Interweave. And oh looky, I just happen to have some cotton yarn for it.

A draw string bag made about 10 years ago from a kit.

Now if you'll pardon me, I have to step outside to use the facility.

I may have over a 2 lb cone of cotton in my stash closet that I totally forgot about until I was cleaning out my shoes, but I'll never tell for sure. ;)

Your definition is hilarious - my husband's was, "a person who likes to steal tins of tuna" which I found highly amusing (mine was so boring I forgot it ...).

That's a really attractive bag!

I love the string bag -- both versions you either knitted or linked. Oh, my, if I start knitting bags will it ever end? And I agree that watching CF* was very distracting ;)!!

What great bags! My sister makes great crocheted bags like that too. I have no skill for it.

Tee hee....I like my name MUCH better than yours! :)
Glad you've decided to join the living! Now you'll have to excuse me while I continue my "fall off the chair" laughter as I continue to look at the size of your cotton cone!
Love and Huggs!

Falling into the outhouse was (and is still up there) my biggest fear.

I love all your crochet bags! I have a pattern and plan to use some handspun linen (I have to spin it first) and seeing yours makes me want to crochet one right now. Beautiful & inspirational work!

That bag is really awesome girlie! Attractive and functional. Not a bad combo.

Love that you "lost" a 2 lb. cone of cotton...
