The Urban Shuffle

Dear Blog, sorry I've had so little time for you lately, but there's the matter of coping with this little thing going on in our neighborhood. The streets are all dug up and there's a hole behind my car 5 feet behind my car large enough to fit 4 of my car in. We're getting city plumbing...Oh joy
We have new friends on the street! Say hello Mr. Crane... That space was created for me after Mr. Crane moved a car sized dumpster full of rocks over to our neighbor's house so I could leave for work. I must say, the people who work for our city are very accomodating. I did complete a small project, and the recipient, 2 year old Zach who's about to become a big brother any day, got his bear blanket buddy. Zach's mom said he hung on to the bear all the way home.




Since the weather is turning warmer, I have the urge to knit cotton, lots of cotton. Sorry about the lame photo, I will post when it's done. It's a sheep shape done in bobbles on a stockinette background. Really fun & light for warm weather knitting.

Christmas gift no. 1 for my best bud who collects sheep, and she's a non-knitter. It's a shame too, cause I think she would be great one.

There I was, reading my favorite blogs between reports at the office, and decided to email Ann...http://masondixonknitting.com with a general question about a comment. She responded right away! How can someone who has kids, a published book swamped with tours and a mountain of completed knitting have so much time and energy? I'm still in the clouds...a famous person emailed me! No wonder I love this knitting world to pieces! My new buddy, http://fluffyknitterdeb@blogspot.com whom I've yet to meet pretty much told me to get some writing done here. Imagine that! After she made me cry while reading her post today. If that doesn't get me to cable Debi, nothing will. You've got some gifted hands (and brains) there girl. My current project is a tank from Hip to Knit, & I like the colorway in the ribbon tape I'm using, but I'm dying to cast on some socks...Just need to get the dpns, ordered in sizes 0000 thru 3. I probably won't be to SEE the 0000s let alone knit with them, but it should be a sport to see me try.

Such a Baby

Yep, that's me. Amazing, I thought I knew something about computers, this is gonna take some time to learn...this blogging thing. I've been reading knitting blogs for over a year now and feel like I've "met" so many amazing and talented people. After crocheting for over #*$ years and always WANTING to knit, I finally picked up the sticks and DID it. Yeah! Well, 2 dozen new books and I don't know how much new yarn later, I'm here on my own and having a great time.The true "baby" here is actually made of marzipan.
